TAX & EMPLOYEE BENEFITS PRACTICE

We have a sophisticated practice in the areas of taxation, executive compensation and employee benefits.

We represent clients in connection with both individual and business tax planning, as well as dispute resolution before various governmental agencies. We also have considerable experience in estate planning and probate matters.

We have extensive experience in designing, drafting and implementing all types of qualified and non-qualified deferred compensation plans, including stock-based incentive compensation programs and executive compensation plans. In addition, we assist clients in establishing hundreds of qualified retirement plans, including all types of pension, profit sharing, stock bonus, employee stock ownership (ESOP) and Section 401(k) plans. We counsel employers ranging in size from small, closely held businesses to publicly traded companies with thousands of employees. We represent clients in handling a wide variety of ESOP transactions throughout the country.

We also have considerable experience in welfare benefits, including the designing and drafting of self-funded health plans and cafeteria plans. We counsel clients as to managed care alternatives with respect to health benefits, including the negotiation of contracts with providers for services and alternative delivery systems. We also counsel clients as to cost-saving alternatives with respect to welfare plan administration, and represent clients in a wide range of employee benefits litigation.
